Thank you for your interest in RSD ACADEMY.

The academy offers children the opportunity to learn dance, drama, singing and theatre craft. The academy is separated into 3 age groups, starting from 3 years going up to 18years, Class sizes are limited. The Academy meets on a Saturday at the University of South Wales 10.00-2.00pm, during which time the children receive sessions in a wide range of dance styles, singing & drama.

The Academy provides children who are interested in stage performance the opportunity to gain valuable experience of taking part in productions, and develop the skills to enable them to audition for parts in external productions.

Singing Tuition- Our singing sessions combine vocal warm-ups, techniques and includes age appropriate songs to ensure all children have fun. This includes jazz, musical theatre, rock and pop singing.

Dance- Each class begins with a small warm-up to improve flexibility and strength. The style of dance taught each term ranges from Tap, Freestyle, Hip hop, Latin and Musical theatre which will help develop co-ordination, technical skills as well as building confidence while performing.

Drama- Lessons are delivered to enhance communication and self-esteem skills whilst learning a variety of scripts. Pupils will learn concentrate on a wide range of skills including mime, TV acting, poems, monologues and theatre performance scripts.

Rest assured that your child will receive tuition at the very highest standard. We only employ teachers who we feel have the ability, enthusiasm, knowledge and experience needed to teach at the high standards we expect. We have a fully operational child protection policy, and a nursery nurse working with the children aged eight and below.

We fully recognise the importance of qualifications for young people, and provide all students the opportunity to undertake IDTA Musical theatre exams (which are recognised throughout the U.K). Exam entries are not compulsory but we actively encourage entry where possible as the benefits later in life by students are considerable.

RSD Dance Cheer & Gymnastics

See What Other's Are Saying!

I started with RSD in their recreational class at Llantrisant when I was 6, I am now almost 21. Within this time I have received endless encouragement and dedication from all of the coaches at RSD. The coaches are amazing, and the facilities are just as good! In 2015, myself and my team mates placed 10th in the World at the Worlds Dance Competition in Florida. This would not have been possible without the passion that Pam and Emma have for Dancing and the commitment which they show towards all of their dancers.

I would highly recommend RSD to anyone looking to start Dance, Cheer or Gymnastics, whether its just for fun or to achieve world titles! This has definitely been the best decision I have ever made!
